FFA Versus Time

The FFA members should be excited because things are about to change. During the month of December, the Cloverdale FFA has many secret activities they plan on doing to get everyone more involved in having fun. So clear your schedule for the month of December. In December, as a chapter, we are doing something new. On December 15, 2021, we will be hosting a discovery degree banquet. This banquet is to recognize new members who joined the FFA family this year. These members will be receiving a pin to show they have earned their discovery degree. This degree is usually given to seventh and eighth graders who participate in the Chapters activities.

Cloverdale Forestry Team

During the next few months, the Cloverdale FFA is very busy. Recently the Cloverdale FFA attended the Area 5 Forestry Contest on Tuesday 11/16/21.  14 members (4 Teams) from Cloverdale identified the leaves, woods, and seeds of the 55 native trees of Indiana.  Additionally, these Cloverdale FFA members identified common tree diseases and took a 50 question forestry knowledge exam.  Cloverdale had the largest FFA or 4H group in attendance with 79 total participants!

Cloverdale FFA represented our school well at the Area Contest with 2 of the 4 teams advancing on to the State Forestry Competition on December 11, 2021, at Purdue University.  Members of the teams advancing were; Team Oaks placing 3rd: Max Kaufman, Sierra Kelley, James Kendall, Colin Sturgeon and Team Maples placing 4th: Audrie Fulkerson, Savannah Hubble, Emily Mann, Andrea Nees.  Individually Sierra Kelley placed 8th in the contest and Audrie Fulkerson placed 9th.

Also participating in the contest but not advancing to state were: Bronson Burk, Carson Hall, Nathan Hamilton, Casey Miller, Alayna Oberkrom, and Ella Szczerbik.  Great Job Clovers!

FFA Friendsgiving

On Thursday, November 18, 2021, the Cloverdale FFA gathered together to celebrate Thanksgiving together with all our members that were able to attend during our regularly scheduled FFA Chapter meeting. This meeting took place at 6 pm where members were able to socialize, play games, and join the FFA chapter officers at the craft table where we made crafts for thanksgiving decorations.

Parliamentary Procedure

Monday and Thursday mornings at 7 the FFA Parli team meets to practice for this team contest. This team consists of at least seven members performing a scripted meeting and discussing topics that are brought to the attention of the team. This team is made of a President, Vice President, Advisor, Secretary, Sentinel, Reporter, and Treasurer.  This contest will be on December 9, 2021.

Fruit Sales

This year fruit Sales are ending really soon. These sales end on November 19, 2021. The annual fruit sale the FFA has is a great way for the Cloverdale FFA to get money to give back to their members.  Every case we sell we get $5.00 back as a profit. These fruit things you buy last for a very long time if you keep them in the right conditions. If you were not able to purchase this fall these sales will go on next fall around the same year.  The delivery of the fruit to the school will be on December 12, 2021.
